Orpheo Concerto: YIHAO MAO (piano)

Yihao Mao was born in 2000 in the Chinese province of Zhejiang. He began his musical education at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 2018 he studied at the University of Music and Theater in Munich with Prof. Michael Schäfer. He is currently studying with Xin Wang, the artistic director of the Euregio Piano Award in Germany. He received further musical inspiration from Bernd Goetzke, Rena Shereshevskaya and Antti Siirala. He is the winner of numerous international piano competitions. In October 2024 he won first prize at the 28th International Piano Prize “Stefano Marriza”.
